It might be you or somone you know

About three people out of every two hundred people have been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. That means between two to five million people in the United States have been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and several still suffer the symptoms without being diagnosed and receiving treatment. There are several conditions that researchers have labeled to the cause of Bipolar Disorder. These conditions are listed as childhood upbringing, environmental, trauma, drugs, alcohol, head injuries, stress, and genetics. One theory is that mental disorders are genetically pasted from the father, along with several other disorders considering his sperm is living and a woman’s egg isn’t. If either one of the parents has been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder their unborn child has a ten to twenty percent chance of genetically inheriting the disorder. If neither parent has Bipolar Disorder most likely their unborn child isn’t at risk.

  1. Wow. This is a blog I will definitely follow because I've often wondered if my son is bipolar. I thought this was a condition that people were born with, so I was very surprised to learn of the different causes of the disease. I look forward to reading more of your posts on this topic!
